I didn’t even realize that 3am had posted my story until just now. Oh well. That’s cool. I wrote that a while ago and so it’s neat to revisit it.

15p also put up something of mine in the new issue.

I have some music that I was jammin around with here. There’s some stuff I’ve been writing recently that I’ll do something with.

And, you know, comics. Of course.

Hi to all the people who have come over from those two places. Stick around.

oh boy - the combination of a rush of school work and the crash of my 500 gb hard drive - including a few dozen unused comics - was quite discouraging. sorry. this week, though, will see the return to the daily schedule.

oh boy. the regularity shall return!

3am and, y’know, shit.

A short story I submitted to 3am magazine got accepted and that’s going over there soon. I will link to that as soon as that happens.

I’m working on another story that is nearly complete and that’ll be sent out to some places, too. Then, maybe, I’ll write the great American cheap cross-country-bus novel. Still unsure about that, though.

But, you see now, right? I am doing shit.

I want to take a trip…

Maybe you can help me - here’s my problem:

I am completely opposed to doing office work this summer. However, it’s a possibility that is becoming increasingly likely as every day goes by. Do I work in some fucking bumping law firm or do I have a rocking good time navigating the New York City government agencies famous for constant in-office parties?

It may come down to that, I don’t know. The truth is that I may end up admitting defeat and setting on down a certain path of all encompassing hatred that only cubicle monkeys ever walk.

BUT PERHAPS NOT?!

This summer, I want to travel across the US instead of across an office building. I’m looking for that kind of change-your-life-or-at least-have-a-good-time-trying experience.  I want to stop at a million different places and spend the night, meet new people, make new friends and enemies (both) and see and do things I’ve never seen.

Now, to be honest, I’m sure it’s not all going to happen. I know that If this happens at all I’m not going to be able to make a million stops and I may not even have enough time to make enemies. With a little luck and the power of persuasion I might just be able to pull the vast majority of this plan off:

I know that it takes a couple of hundred dollars (~$258) to make a cross country trip both ways. I wonder how much that changes when it is not straight across and includes many stops? Or, does anyone know of any bulk purchase package that would make things cheaper for me? I’ve only briefly looked at Greyhound so far and I haven’t found anything quite like that. However, I may just be blind.

I know that money’s pretty important and if you could tip me off to some deals that’d be great. However, the more exciting question is: where the fuck do I go?

Tourist spots are neat in their own way, I guess, and when I have a couple of kids I’ll take em down to Mt. Rushmore. What I really want is to go to Nashville and Austin and San Francisco and Seattle and see some totally weird shit. I want to hang out and see a basement show in a city I’ve never even flown over. I want to … well, you know what? I think ‘weird shit’ gives you a pretty good idea. ‘Awesome fucking times.’ Uh, ‘enlightening (motherfucking) travels.’ I want to have an incredible summer.

I don’t know who specifically to ask, really, so I figured I’d ask everyone: Where do I go and why?

Your own town, city, state, show venue, eatery, circus, bathroom, etc are all acceptable answers: I’m looking for any idea at all.

Maybe I’m totally romanticizing the whole idea and I’ll come back completely cynical and disillusioned. But fuck it, those feelings make for some good writing, too.

the next time you laugh and, with a sneer, accuse any modern emotive art of being emo but call older stuff just, well, passionate - i will resort to violence. fuck yourself.
